Since that time, USC Bag has grown and expanded our business to provide bags across North America from two manufacturing locations. We are majority owned by Parkdale Mills, Inc. Headquartered in Gastonia, NC, Parkdale is the largest spinner of cotton yarn in the world, with manufacturing plants in the USA and internationally. Parkdale Mills also owns US Cotton, LLC.
US Cotton processes cotton to supply almost all of the cotton balls and cotton pads that are sold in retail stores in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. All of these cotton products are packaged and merchandised in printed polyethylene bags.
Our company, USC Bag Manufacturing, LLC, was founded in Albuquerque, NM in 2005 as the vertically integrated bag manufacturing arm of US Cotton. Our mandate was to manufacture and supply 100% of the branded and private label polyethylene bags to US Cotton’s 3 plants on a JIT basis.
These bags, which are all tamper evident with zippers, are printed with complex graphics that depict the cotton products and the corporate identities of the national retail chain stores.
To fulfill our mandate required the most efficient and accurate printing and converting machinery in the world, and an experienced, dedicated team of skilled professionals. It required us to adhere to very strict standards of quality in our pre-press, flexographic printing and bag making operations.
Achieving high standards of quality and service has allowed us to achieve healthy growth.
Cotton bags now represent less than 50% of our business. We are very prominent in packaging for medical, food & bakery products. We now produce more than 190 million packages yearly.
With plants in Albuquerque, NM and Belmont, NC, we have extended our product range to include laminated pouches.
